Rules

Race Committee

 

Decisions as well as releases will be determined by New England Derby ownership. All decisions will be final.  Proposed dates are all subject to change depending on weather.  New England Derby will always do what is in the best interest of the pigeons.

Rules

  • You must be 18 years old or older to enter.
  • The race will remain open for three days.  If no bird is home by the end of the 3rd day, all prize money will be refunded minus 15% for race day expenses. 
  • New England Derby reserves the right to refuse entries to or to prohibit any individual, or group of individuals or company from participation in the New England Derby.  
  • New England Derby can refuse any individual from attending any race event.
  • New England Derby will settle any disputes.
  • The arrival of the first birds for the final race will be considered a drop.  Prize money will be split evenly.  If a bird from the first drop does not trap it will be considered first drop until the next bird arrives.  
  • New England Derby will make all decisions on training, feeding and care of the race pigeons and do what is in the best interest for the pigeons.
  • The official entrant of the pigeon or pigeons will be considered the owner of the pigeon(s).
  • Prize money will be paid only to the official entrant of the pigeon(s).

Acts of God

 “Acts of God”, are major events beyond human control, disease outbreaks, natural disasters, governmental actions, catastrophic events, terror, war or anything that makes the race impossible to continue.  All pigeons will be shipped back to the breeders at breeders expense if pigeons are allowed to be shipped by the government.

The birds will remain property of the owner after the race

W-9 Form

Any prize money won over $600.00  is required by law to provide a completed IRS - W9 form Prize money will only be paid after the form is signed and dated and sent to the New England Derby. You can find the W9 Acknowledgement form at:
